After a scorchingly-hot and humid week, I’m personally recovering from being in a constant state of sweaty discomfort–but, who cares? That’s summer baby!
Summertime in the city can get quite overwhelming though––crowded patios lining the streets, hoards of people populating your favourite parks, and a never-ending rotation of street festivals and block parties that are becoming more anxiety-inducing than fun.
It’s June 21, which means Toronto summer is officially in full swing. Here are a couple of things we think you should be doing to ring in the season:
Stock up on Left Field Brewery’s “Ice Cold Lime”
It’s the perfect crushable summer brewski to beat the heat.
Plant-based scoops at Honey’s are better than the real stuff
Leave the Lactaid tabs at home.
Bunker down at Bickford Park for an afternoon outing
This is the best park to chill at, don’t @ me.
If you’re into guys who make Texas BBQ in their driveway…
Drop by the new Goldenfield Brewery and check out Golden Horseshoe Barbecue’s pop-up this weekend.
Ceviche is our unofficial food of the summer
We like the one at Campechano.
Cool off with the sour cherry soft serve at Vilda’s
Okay maybe pack those Lactaid tabs… this is worth it.
Happy Hour like a pro at Paradise Grapevine on Geary
$10 glasses between 5pm-6pm and a lively patio. Sign me up.
Limited time only Blue Slushies from Matty’s Patty’s
They’ve got these things on tap and they’re really the perfect park accompaniment.
Some new summer merch from Burdock Brewery.
Their new crisp duck tee is pretty perfect IMO.
We’re not here to dictate your life choices, but we do have some suggestions to make the most of it. Have a hot, sweaty summer y’all!
