A Day in the Life of Our Social Media Manager
It’s a foodie’s dream job, and Priy’s taking you along for the ride...
Hi, I’m Priy, the social media manager here at TasteToronto, and I take my job as a professional snack enthusiast very seriously.
I wanted to take you through a day in my life — it involves A LOT of food of course, nonstop video & photoshoots, and a questionable amount of bread pudding at odd hours.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes into running our social media accounts, this is your lucky day.
9 a.m. — Good morning Toronto!
Mornings tend to kick off with coffee and Notion - because no great content ever came from being uncaffeinated. This is where the entire team comes together to collaborate, brainstorm, and share feedback on upcoming content.
I spend some time scheduling and preparing some posts and ideas, and prepping for the day before I finally head out the door.

10 a.m. — Dessert for breakfast
I reach my first stop — Rosie’s Burgers. If you’re thinking “wow, she’s having burgers at 10 a.m.!?” you’re wrong. I’m having banana pudding.
Today, we’re capturing the magic behind the making of Rosie’s iconic banana pudding. Haven’t tried it yet? Take this as your sign!
Brian is walking me through all the steps on camera (though he let me know the exact recipe is top secret — totally fair, and I respect it).
Getting the perfect shot took a few angles (and A LOT of restraint), but let’s just say dessert before noon feels pretty on-brand for me.

1 p.m. — “Lunch” Break
After recovering from the sugar high, I’m hopping on the TTC to Café Paradise to shoot their loaded Reuben this afternoon. Usually, when I get to a spot, we’ve already chalked out a plan, and today’s focus is all about showing the magic behind the making of this sandwich.
Also, if you’re wondering—yes, my entire camera roll is just food—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

3 p.m.
There’s a gap until my next shoot this evening, so I’m taking some time to save all the content I’ve captured onto a hard drive (because nothing is scarier than losing footage), and get a head start on editing videos we shot last week.
It’s also a great time to reply to comments and DMs, and read your foodie hot takes.

5 p.m.
I’ve finally embraced the holiday spirit and made my way to Miracle on Bloor. We’re shooting the whole space - holiday-themed drinks, food, snacks - you name it!

7 p.m. - Honey, I’m home!
I’m finally home.
For anyone who works with social media, you know you never really “log off.” I’m always keeping an eye on DMs, comments, and those sneaky notifications that pop up. It’s like a never-ending game of Whack-a-Mole, but with more food pics and less mallets!
Here’s to a fun day in the life of a food-obsessed content creator. :)
