The forthcoming end of August is upon us, and with it comes the return of our city’s most star-studded event – the Toronto International Film Festival!
Between September 5th to the 15th, Toronto will once again become the mecca for all things film and entertainment, hosting international movie stars, directors, media and audiences.
Toronto is no stranger to the movie industry, having been credited as the backdrop in countless movies for decades, usually under the guise of a New York, a Chicago, or just a “metropolis™” dupe. Rarely does Toronto get to play itself in a movie, yet, TIFF is the one time a year that Toronto receives its flowers from the industry, bringing a much-needed energy boost.
With countless movie stars roaming around in Toronto, you’re probably bound to see one if you’re milling about downtown, and specifically in the Entertainment District, where the festival takes place. We’d like to heighten your odds by showing you some spots you’re most likely to catch a glimpse of your favourite actor or filmmaker.

The 39th floor at the Well, Toronto’s most coveted development this year, is a great place to start. Scenic views of the city and lots to explore in the area.
